Our Story
Scared Hamster Productions is a boutique Canadian film and television development company.
We met as public servants in the Canadian government, but both of us wanted something more — to go from writing briefing notes to writing meaningful stories that connect with audiences.
So, we took the jump into producing film and television at a time of growth and stability in the entertainment industry.1 As you can imagine, that is a little scary — hence 'scared hamsters' (we assure readers we are not, in fact, hamsters).
We did the thing — and now we create and develop character-driven comedies and dramas that reflect the hilarious absurdity, occasional sadness, and abundant beauty of everyday life, and hopefully leave you feeling a little bit better about the world.

Meet the Team
Graeme Archibald
Graeme Archibald is a writer-producer based in Ottawa. Magic on Set, his debut written short, premiered in November 2025 and is currently available on YouTube and Air Canada in-flight entertainment.
Chantele Sitaram
Chantele Sitaram is a storyteller, writer, and producer from Toronto, now living in London, England. She holds an MFA in Scriptwriting and Story Design and her written work has previously featured in literary magazines, including Lead with Diversity Press and Living Hyphen.
